Terms of Carriage

1. About these terms

These terms apply to every collection and delivery carried out by RS Same Day ("we", "us"). By booking online, by phone or by email you agree to them.

2. Prices

Your quoted price covers a dedicated vehicle from collection to delivery for the vehicle chosen. Prices are based on road miles and the details you give us. If the load, addresses or times differ from the booking, we may adjust the price before we continue.

3. Goods in transit cover

Goods are covered by goods in transit insurance up to £10,000 per consignment unless agreed in writing beforehand.

If your goods are worth more, tell us when you book so we can arrange extra cover. Claims must be reported within 7 days of delivery, with photos and proof of value.

4. Goods we will not carry

Hazardous or dangerous goods, waste, explosives, firearms, live animals, cash, bullion, jewellery, illegal items, and anything that is poorly packed or unsafe to load.

5. Packing and loading

You are responsible for packing goods so they can travel safely. Pallets must be wrapped and stable. Someone must be available at collection and delivery to help load or unload items over 25kg unless a tail-lift vehicle has been booked.

6. Waiting time

The first 30 minutes at collection and at delivery are free. After that, waiting time is charged at £25 per hour, in 15-minute blocks.

7. Cancellations

Cancel free of charge before a driver is dispatched. Once a driver is on the way, a charge of 50% of the quoted price applies. If the driver has arrived and the goods are not ready, the full price applies.

8. Failed deliveries

If nobody is available to receive the goods, we will contact you. We can wait (waiting time applies), return the goods to the sender, or deliver to an agreed alternative address at an extra charge.

9. Liability

We are not liable for delays caused by traffic, weather, road closures, breakdowns or anything outside our reasonable control, or for indirect losses such as lost profit. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

10. Payment

Payment is due on booking unless you hold a business account with us. Account invoices are payable within 30 days.
